Poem Travel Meditation

A stop along the way

Headed out, he rests for the journey at a stop along the way.

An elder guide points to the next stop, seemingly as a means to an end with a blank expression down to his chin.

Footsteps, Footsteps take him where he wants to go. For this trek isn’t for another to walk alone.

He pauses to look toward the horizon, the sun begins its demise into the night sky.

A rest stop along the way beckons him to stay, but a keen awareness tells him to stay astray.

For his inner demons cannot be vanquished in a seedy place, but only within his soul,

A place of reclamation, a haven for the lost and the weary, he pushes on.
